| Chicken a la King

Ingredients:
2 chicken breasts boneless without skin
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 dash pepper
1 dash salt
1 dash garlic powder
4 tablespoons margarine
4 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups milk
2 slices swiss cheese
2 scoops sour cream
1 carrot
1 cup frozen peas
This is one of those dishes that is a fair amount of work, but may be worth the trouble. Cut chicken breast into bite sized hunks. In a frying pan on medium heat put oil, spread it around, then dump in the chicken. Slice carrots into penny sized pieces. Sprinkle on spices and fry until chicken is done through.
Dump chicken into a separate bowl. Now add margarine to frying pan. Let it melt then add flower. When flour is all soaked with the butter add milk. Stir pretty much continuously until the sauce thickens. Dump back the chicken and carrots.
Add sour cream and cheese and peas. Let cook for about five minutes - at least long enough for the peas to warm through. Taste. If needed add more spices.
This a la king stuff can be served over rice or biscuits or noodles or whatever happens to take your fancy.
