Country style is an appellation I have frequently pondered. As you may have already guessed, I frequently ponder many inconsequential topics. In any case, "country style" gets attached to any number of dishes. Of course, it hints that the recipe was, is, and always will be one that is used on the farm in the American Midwest, somewhere near the plains of Kansas. One would also think it to be plentiful and filling and loaded with fat.
These, at any rate, are the attributes that I expect and even desire. It is interesting to note that most of the people who live in the country eat a more "healthy" diet, lentils, vegetables and dandelion weeds. It is a fairly unpalatable regimen if you ask me. Well, I, at least, will not disappoint your expectations for a country style meal. Check out the recipe on the next page.
