Triumph Forsaken, by Mark Moyer

Triumph Forsaken: The Viet Nam War 1954 - 1964, by Mark Moyer. This poignant work revisits the history of the Viet Nam. Special focus is directed at how the United States became involved in the struggle and what the U.S. did and failed to do to win the war. President Diem plays a prominent role until 1963 when the United States backed an overthrow of his government. Mr. Moyer proposes that this may have been one of the biggest mistakes. This is a fascinating read especially for people who understand that those who do not understand history are doomed to repeat it.
