A liberal is someone who... A conservative is someone who ...
By E William Gravlin
Do you think you know what a liberal is? As conservatives we know that it has to do with the way they act and has nothing to do with skin color or nationality.
In "A liberal is someone who..." we get a funny witty look at liberalism. We find out: "A liberal is someone who thinks that burning the American flag is a constitutionally protected form of free speech which is OK as long as nobody says anything that is politically incorrect when they're doing it."
On the other side of the coin, this book shows, "A conservative is someone who realizes that foreign tourists pay sales taxes in the U.S. so he wants to increase foreign tourism. A liberal is someone who realizes that illegal immigrants pay sales taxes in the U.S. so he wants to make them citizens."
A liberal is someone who looks at the size of his share of the economic pie and exclaims, "His is bigger than mine!" A renowed Harvard psychiatrist described such outbursts as adolescent "Asset Envy."
"A limousine liberal is someone who often tries to boost his public image by saying that he would have no objection to the government raising his taxes. Then he watches nervously to make sure that conservatives never let that happen."
The basis of humor is truth, and there is much of both in this book.
