Marc Ogle has been called a writer of "political science fiction". His books, Growth Industries: Stories of America Along US 60 (pb, 316pp) and Abend (pb, 217pp) although novels are steeped in political and social realism. Set in Glendale Arizona, they draw such unlikely characters as Celtic Gods and women at the bottom of the social ladder. The major characters are forced by an intrusive government to earn their living through illegal means. These books are exciting, yet filled with intriguing insights such as those Mr. Ogle offered in an exclusive interview in a recent Conservative Bookstore Newsletter, speaking of "Abend" he said, In the old days we had tax collectors and taxes are a necessary evil; but now everyone is a tax collector, especially the Law enforcement agencies that are the biggest Growth Industry in America. It's one of those ideas where you smack your head and say "Gee, he's right. I never thought of it that way." Store owners and employers all collect taxes for "Big Mom". Marc Ogle goes on in the interview to develop the idea of "Big Mom" which is the essence of his work: "Big Mom" is our government instead of "Big Brother" from the book, "1984". We are all being watched, cataloged, monitored, controlled, and loved to death by the government, not our mother! You will want to take a look at these books and consider looking at life from a new perspective. To order click on title: Growth Industries: Stories of America Along US 60 (pb, 316pp), by Marc Ogle
